Context

When I joined Altana in 2022, the company had a comprehensive database encompassing a significant part of the global supply chain. At the time, accessing this data required knowledge of SQL or Python, or through PowerBI dashboards.

Since then, I've gone on to help build a product for the worlds largest enterprises, government agencies and logistic service providers to interact and get inisghts upon that data.

Unfortunately, I can't share a lot of this work publicly as it's sensitive, but feel free to reach out if you'd like to see more.

Search & Explore

I worked alongside a small team of engineers and a product manager for six months to launch our initial version. Over the next year, we continuously improved the product, incorporating customer feedback and introducing new features.

Playground

Figma has its limits, especially when designing a scalable, dynamic node-and-edge interface. To push beyond them, I built a playground that generates synthetic data, enabling prototyping for features like conditional formatting and grouping.

Results

  • Altana closed a $200M Series C, where my contributions to the product and vision helped shape presentations to the board and investors.
  • L.L.Bean and other major enterprises rely on Altana as their technology platform of choice for supply chain visibility, ensuring the sustainability, integrity, and resilience of their supply chains.
  • Customs and Border Patrol agents are using explorations today to stop goods made with forced labor, and fentanyl entering the US. A search that previously took an analyst 90 days, took just 90 seconds in our tool.

Features

"Customs and Border Protection Agents are using Altana's software to track down the precursor chemicals used in fentanyl production in Mexico, to help stop the drug from ever being created"
